And every lab as a family — Graphic Design, Cybersecurity, AI & Machine Learning, Industrial Design, Music Theory and Music Engineering, Video Production, Culinary Arts, Personal Care, Welding — its year, each course inside it on its own, and the rooms it opens, in plain language first and the building’s own names under it. The labs are not electives: every course in them is graded to the core across the board, and the coloured squares on each card say how much reading & writing, math, science, history, coding, technology, art, PE and business it carries. The credentials a course prepares for, stated the way the labs state them: METTIE teaches the whole thing and tests it exam-shaped; the certificate is issued by the body that owns it, where that body says — a booth and a certified inspector, an authorized proctor, a test centre, a DMV. A course prepares for a certificate; the issuer awards it.
ServSafe Food Handler · ServSafe Manager
Virtual or in personISSUED BY NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION (SERVSAFE)Where the exam happens. Food Handler online; Manager with an authorized proctor — in person or online-proctored.
What METTIE does for it. Week 1 of the Kitchen teaches sanitation and food safety completely and tests it with the full-length, exam-shaped ServSafe practice exam (75% to pass, retakeable).
OSHA 10 (and 30) · the Card
Virtual or in personISSUED BY OSHA-AUTHORIZED TRAINERWhere the exam happens. Through an OSHA-authorized trainer — online or in a classroom; the card is theirs to issue.
What METTIE does for it. The Card teaches every module — your rights, falls, struck-by, caught-in, electrocution — with the Hazard Hunt and an exam-shaped OSHA 10 test; the Construction and HVAC skins read the same modules on their own jobsite.
EPA Section 608 Technician Certification
Virtual or in personISSUED BY U.S. EPA, THROUGH AN EPA-APPROVED CERTIFYING ORGANIZATIONWhere the exam happens. A proctored exam — in person at a certifying organization, or online-proctored where the organization offers it. Federal law: refrigerant cannot be handled without it.
What METTIE does for it. The HVAC lane: lockout, recovery, ventilation, refrigerant handling — the lane ends in the 608.
AWS SENSE Level 1 · the welder performance qualification (WPQ)
In personISSUED BY AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY · A CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTORWhere the exam happens. In the booth. A test plate welded in position, bent and judged by a CWI — there is no virtual weld test.
What METTIE does for it. Six lanes — fundamentals, cutting and inspection, stick, wire, TIG — and the Test Camp: WPS, PQR and WPQ, the 3G and 4G positions, the test plate, running the test, the judgment.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) · the knowledge test

What METTIE does for it. The Bank: the pre-trip, hours of service, load securement, GOAL before you back — drills that draw at random the way the real test does, twenty a drill.
CompTIA Security+ · ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)

What METTIE does for it. The Human Firewall: thirteen weeks from the three doors to the incident, the range and the line, the box’s diary, the flaw with a number — the Security+ track, the vocabulary, the CTF and the blue-team bracket.
ISO/IEC 42001 · Lead Implementer · Lead Auditor (AI governance)

What METTIE does for it. AI Governance in the Cyber Lab: the 38 controls and audit readiness, the Lead Implementer, the Lead Auditor, agents for internal monitoring, the session run end to end.
The Compass PD Certificate · facilitators
VirtualISSUED BY META24Where the exam happens. Online, in METTIE: completions across the ten SEL courses and the three adult modules; PD hours at about two per unit.
What METTIE does for it. The adult PD: co-regulation, de-escalation, restraint-free and repair, the safety review, then the certificate. Adults only.
The squares are a picture of a course — how much of each core subject its own rooms carry, read from the rooms’ text — never a score of a student. Every course in a lab is graded to the core across the board; the squares say which columns it feeds most. A quarter is nine weeks and one project; a semester two; the year four. A course inside a lab is as long as the lab wrote it — a quarter, a semester, a year — and is offered in any window that fits.
